The New Life Baptist Church is motivated by the goal of
creating a systematic cycle of evangelism in the gospel
of Jesus Christ and discipleship in His way, through
evangelistic outreach to the community whereby significant
relationships in Christ can be fostered through effective
ministry resulting in genuine worship and holistic stewardship,
leading to personal discipleship and the equipping of families
through systematic teaching, resulting in missionary mindsets
toward kingdom advancement and growth into the lives of
individuals, families, communities and nations.>
In 1998, as a Member of Community Fellowship
Baptist Church, in Missouri City, Texas, Reverend
Yuri Solomon was moved of God to organize New Life
Baptist Church. New Life Baptist Church was
organized in the home of Sister Arletha Mackey, on
May 3, 1998. On that same morning we held our first
worship service. In attendance were Pastor Yuri
Solomon, Katrina Solomon, Arletha Mackey, and
LaTonya Mackey. By December 1998, we leased our
first worship facility at 8410 Brandon Lane; we
remained there for a year and a half. Finally, the
decision was made in June of 2000 to return to home
worship, in an effort to amass the funds necessary
to begin to purchase a facility of our own. We then
continued to worship in the home of Pastor and
Sister Solomon. By March of 2001 the Lord blessed
and enabled us to begin purchase of our present
facility here at 4714 Wilmington St. In 2014, God
has blessed us to enter into a new era in the life
of our church: We retired our first church note,
while simultaneously purchasing two lots adjacent to
our present property. In our tenure there have been
many challenges. However, as Pastor Solomon always
says, there are no problems for Christians, just
uncomfortable situations. Thus our difficulties have
forged many ministries at our Church such as, the
Men of God, the Women of Faith, the Soldiers for
Christ Youth, the Hospitality Team, the Program
Committee, the Usher Board, WordTalk Radio Ministry,
the Pastor Aide, Adult and Youth Choirs, and the
Life Bible Institute. The Vision of our church is
"Teaching People to Reach People" The mission of our
church is "We seek to reach, we reach to grow, we
grow to send and we send to seek". The motto of our
Church is "Proclaiming the Heavenly Hope", for we
know that there is no other means to accomplish our
vision and mission than the Gospel of Christ. The
preaching and teaching of New Life has been
essential to building spiritual individuals, strong
families, and a lifestyle of constant outreach to
others. Our history is short because this is just
the beginning. We have a great work ahead of us;
however, we have learned that with Christ all things
are possible.
We believe in one
God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The triune God has
created man in His own image and has called him to
manifest and reflect holiness through obedience to His
commandments. Because man has woefully fallen in this
responsibility and entered into a state of moral
corruption, he has subsequently become estranged from
his Creator.
Because of a profound love for His creation, God has
initiated a plan of redemption which He has accomplished
on behalf of His people in the realm of temporal
history. The zenith of this redemption is located in the
historical incarnation of God in the person of Jesus of
Nazareth. We confess Jesus to be the Christ of Old
Testament prophecy, being at the same time fully God and
fully man. Jesus, through His substitutionary atoning
death and bodily resurrection, has provided the
meritorious basis of our justification, which, by God's
grace, we receive by faith alone.
Proceeding from the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit
dwells in the hearts of believers, effecting their
regeneration and operating in their sanctification. The
same Holy Spirit has been given to the people of God to
empower them for the service of bearing witness to the
kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit brings His people
together to form a corporate community of believers. We
believe that Christ has established a visible church
which is called to live in the power of the Holy Spirit
under the regulation of the authority of Holy Scripture,
exercising discipline, administering the sacraments, and
preaching the Gospel of Christ.
We believe that the Bible, in its entirety, is divine
revelation, and we submit to the authority of Holy
Scripture, acknowledging it to be inerrantly inspired by
God and carrying the full weight of His authority.
We support the work of Christian organizations and
institutions that confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
We are committed to the implementation of the social and
cultural implications of God's commandments for the
well-being of man and his environment. We believe our
faith should be visible in concrete forms and models of
personal and social behavior. We seek to be faithful
disciples of Christ, enduring in love and obedience
until He comes again to consummate His kingdom.
